WGCI’s annual Big Jam has always been one of the city’s most anticipated hip hop and R&B winter concerts. This year’s lineup featured a mixture of local, legendary, and new artists like Jacquees, Migos, DaBaby, and Megan Thee Stallion, who rocked the show as a final performer when she hand-picked seven “hot girls” to dance alongside on stage with her.

“I need seven hot girls to come on this stage with me,” she announced to thousands of people in the United Center Friday night.

The Texas native chose random fans from the audience, who eagerly rushed on stage to dance on stage to her hit songs “Simon Says” and “Hot Girl Summer.”

Chicago rapper G Herbo also engaged with the audience, constantly retirating how much love he has for the city, especially when he performed one of his first records “Kill Sh*t” for his “day one fans.” He also performed “I’m Rollin,”  and his radio charting singles “Swervo” and “Never Cared.”

East coast legend Wale, graced the stage, delivering some of his smooth throwback songs such as “Bad,” “On Chill” and “Lotus Flower Bomb,” which gained a huge reaction from the female audience.

Other artists like Chicago’s own Tink, Yella Beezy, and the Heavy Steppers, opened up the show with performances that sent the audience into a frenzy of excitement. The three hour concert ended just before midnight.

“I had fun, ” said Terrance Groves, who noted that his favorite performer was Megan Thee Stallion.
